At present we at the centre are focussing to achieving the following of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The centre was established with the vision to fulfill the obligation of reaching out to the society and endeavor to work for the welfare of people. The philosophy at the core of this centre is the Indian insight, which entails that mankind has a common and interlinked future along with everything on this planet. Our forefather knew that everything on this universe is made of same core elements and understood that we nurture and grow together or else perish. It is also enshrined in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our future work programme therefore embodies the age-old Indian wisdom of preserving and sustaining the planet in order to provide innovative solutions addressing the challenges for the development of society. As our university is set-up in a rural area, our focus is towards remittance of holistic sustainable development solutions to rural community and ultimately achieves UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Our mission at this centre is to work with Gandhian Ideal and Principle of ‘Sarvodaya’ which automatically fulfils our sustainability goals.
Based on the above goals our thrust areas are
Facilities available in the constituent departments, resources from collaborating institutions, and those procured through various funding agencies.
The centre has already made a head-start in its research activities by sanctioning supernumerary quota of seats for the Ph.D. program following the approval from the Academic council. Two in-house projects related to Apiary (Bee keeping) and Renewable Energy have been approved and funding has been sanctioned.
The aim of sustainable development is to meet the need of the present without compromising the ability of future generations. The knowledge of this required balance between environmental, economic and social needs for sustaining a future necessarily needs to be disseminated. Our centre and University through its effective and focused education and training will provide a meaningful interface with the existing community leading to overall development of the region ensuring livelihood along with income generation of the stakeholders in a sustainable manner.
Strive to work towards fulfilling the sustainable goals. Our centre aims to provide a pivotal point for generating and disseminating the relevant knowledge in the area. We hope to localize the development by acting on a holistic approach and embracing the sustainability. Our university is located in a rural setting and so we are in an advantageous position to play a leadership role and help the local community to understand and adapt to a sustainable development module by our active intervention. Our projects and research are all socially and economically relevant. We are aiming to provide the community with technologies that will use natural and local resources, generate income and be self sufficient in a sustainable pattern.
