The initiative ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ that was announced by Hon'ble Prime Minister on 31st October 2015 on the occasion of the 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and under the directions and guidelines of UGC-MHRD to celebrate the idea of India as a nation wherein different cultural units across varied geographies interact with each other, carry out engagements with one another in the spheres of language, literature, cuisine, festivals, cultural events, tourism, etc. Mahatma Gandhi Central University University has formed a Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) committee to organized various programmes to promote the knowledge of the culture, tradition and practices of different state of our country which held together into a composite national identity and also in the line of the Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat Campaign launched by government of India. To implement and fulfil the broader objective of EBSB campaign, Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari also constituted a committee and Prof. Rafique Ul Islam is the Coordinator of the EBSB committee since November 2019. Our university is also one of the examples of “Unity in Diversity” which has faculty members and staffs are from various part of the India (from 21 states of India). To understand better about the cultural heritage and traditions of every states across India, the EBSB committee initiated a lecture series under the theme “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat-Pradeshnubhuti” “एक भारत श्रेष्ठ भारत-प्रदेशानुभूति” where the faculty members delivered a lecture about their own states- history, cultural heritage, tradition, food habit, tourism, languages and contribution of their state to the nation building.
Under the EBSB campaign, various programmes/ events were organized by the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Committee of Mahatma Gandhi Central University since its inception.
